Secret to Planning a DVD Authoring Replication Project

So here I leave you an insight into the sometimes long process of getting a DVD. Many of our clients are first-timers and often lack a clear understanding of what the DVD-authoring / replication process. This is a typical and realistic timetable for what's to: 2-3 months: - the store for a DVD replication / authoring provider. The reason to start this early is that replicators can tell you exactly what they need as the master. It affects you used to write and how much it will cost. It is also good for a general idea of the time required to get replication. The specifications for each project is different, so get involved and start a replicator with a good account rep will help you save time and money. 2 months for: - finishing with the editors of the final version of the video - the final decision to DVD authoring and replication supplier - determine the specifications for DVD authoring: types of menus, the number of menus, menu design, video sources, Music, DVD-ROM content - rule of thumb, the longer the video and the menus are more complex, take longer authoring - DVD-off design for packaging (labels and Amaray case cover) 7 weeks: - get a first draft of the DVD navigation menu to view, revise if necessary - component video are encoded 6 weeks - first edition of the author disc with video content is created (if menus are approved) for 5 weeks: - continue fine-tuning content and Navigation - go with designs for DVD packaging for 4 weeks: - finalization of DVD content - DVD-generating master, thoroughly revised and final approval for it - let us know when replicator DVD master ready - finalization of DVD - packaging, proof read thoroughly and get print-ready files for 3 weeks: - DVD-master replication is made for - DVD artwork is made for digital proofing - Review digital experiments searching for that line, missing font and any typos - stamper is made by controlling section for 2 weeks: - receive, check Replicator DVD drive - DVD packaging is printed - the validation of control after viewing a DVD disc from the same TV / stereo setup for 1 week: - DVD-disks pressed (molded) from pistil - DVD label art is printed on discs - DVD's are packed in cases concerning 0 week: The DVD's are finally ready to be shipped or picked up! - I did not even notice that the shipping line this time. Most replicators not including shipping time to turn. So if your product should be divided cross country, push back the timeline at least one weeks. Conclusion: I hope this helps you understand why the overall production process take longer than you think. This is a typical timeline and may vary from project to project.
